Set up the Gifnic keyboard

iPhone and iPad

  1. In Gifnic, open the menu on My GIFs and choose Gifnic Keyboard for a guided setup, or open Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard and choose Gifnic.
  2. Tap Gifnic in the list and turn on Allow Full Access. Apple requires this for a keyboard to copy a GIF.
  3. In any chat, tap the globe key to switch to Gifnic, tap a GIF, then tap Paste in the message box.

The keyboard only shows GIFs you’ve made in Gifnic. Nothing you type in other apps is read or sent.

Android

  1. In Gifnic, open the menu on My GIFs and choose Gifnic keyboard, or go to Settings > System > Keyboard > On-screen keyboard and turn on Gifnic.
  2. In a chat, switch keyboards with the keyboard button and pick Gifnic.
  3. Tap a GIF to send it. Apps that don’t accept GIFs from keyboards get it copied instead; long-press a GIF to copy it.

Common questions

Where are my GIFs stored?

On your device, in Gifnic. There’s no account or cloud copy, so deleting the app deletes your GIFs. Export the ones you want to keep to Photos or your gallery first.

How do I make a GIF from a video I already have?

Tap Import on the camera, or share the video from Photos, Files or any app and choose Gifnic.

My GIF is too big to send.

When you share, pick where it’s going (Discord, X, Slack, Email or Smallest). Gifnic shows the expected size and shrinks the GIF to fit that app’s limit.

How do I add stickers to WhatsApp or Telegram?

Open Sticker packs from the menu on My GIFs, create a pack, add stickers from any GIF, then tap Add to WhatsApp or Add to Telegram. WhatsApp needs at least 3 stickers in a pack.

What’s in Gifnic Pro?

I bought Pro but it isn’t unlocked.

Open the Pro tab and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with. If that doesn’t work, email us with your order number.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or from your Google Play order history.
